Mock Driving Tests Across Auckland
The closest thing to the real test — without the real consequences. We run your mock test around the actual test areas, mark you against the safe driving and test criteria, and give you the honest feedback you need to walk into test day with confidence.

Mock tests aren't for learning to drive — they're for proving you're ready. They're best suited to:
Confident drivers preparing for their Restricted Licence tests
You've done your supervised hours, you're comfortable in everyday traffic, and your test date is locked in. A mock test confirms you're hitting the standard — and pinpoints the small things that might cost you a pass.
Drivers stepping up to their Full Licences
You've held your Restricted for the qualifying period and you're ready to test up. We'll run you through the Full Licence criteria, including the higher-speed and hazard-perception elements.
Anyone who's failed a test before
A failed test is demoralising — but rarely random. We'll identify exactly what went wrong, work through it, and give you a clear pass/fail simulation before you sit again.
Who Mock Tests Are For
What To Bring
✓ Valid New Zealand or International Driver Licence or Permit
✓ Glasses (if required)
✓ Your own vehicle with a valid WOF and Rego, unless agreed prior otherwise. Option to add on Use of Instructor’s car.
What’s included in a Mock Test
✓ simulated test — closer to a real test than any lesson
✓ Test area for your chosen testing centre
✓ Marked against safe standards, Road Code and NZTA criteria — More comprehensive that what the examiner uses
✓ Pre-test walkaround — vehicle safety check, just like on the day
✓ Feedback during the drive — we observe and provide some feedback during the drive
✓ Detailed end-of-test debrief — pass/fail call, critical errors, minor errors, and exactly what to work on
✓ Written feedback summary sent to you after the session
We've designed the experience to mirror your real test day as closely as possible — including the bits that catch learners out emotionally, not just technically.
Stage 1 — Arrival & vehicle check (5 minutes): We'll walk around the car with you, ask the safety questions an examiner would, and confirm the car is test-ready.
Stage 2 — The drive (45 minutes): You take the wheel and follow my directions. I observe and mark you against safe driving and testing criteria.
Stage 3 — The debrief (10 minutes): The most valuable part. We sit down with the marking sheet and go through:
Did you pass or fail under real test conditions
Critical errors (the instant-fail moments)
Minor errors (the ones that add up)
What to practise before your real test
Any habits to break before test day
You'll leave knowing exactly where you stand — and exactly what to do next.
How a Mock Test Runs
Frequently Asked Questions
-
A lesson teaches and builds skills as you drive — there's lots of guidance and coaching. A mock test simulates the real test — I observe, and only speak for safety reasons. The teaching happens in the debrief afterwards.
-
Ideally 1–2 weeks before your real test — close enough that the feedback is fresh, but with enough time to fix anything that comes up. Booking the day before is too late if you need to address a real issue.
-
Each location has a separate meeting point. Please note this when booking
-
For mock driving tests, you'll use your own car as standard — the same car you'll sit your real test in. If you need to use the instructor's car there's a an optional add on available when booking.
-
No, pick-ups aren't included. Meeting at our meet up locations is part of the realism.
-
Absolutely. Mock tests are a standalone service — you don't need to have done lessons with us first. Just be honest about your driving level when you book so we can give you accurate feedback.
-
Please text as soon as you know. Mock tests run to a strict schedule (just like real ones), so late arrivals will shorten your session rather than push it over.
-
That's actually the best possible outcome — better to fail a mock than a real test. We'll talk through exactly what went wrong and what to work on. Many of our students book one or two follow-up coaching sessions after a mock to nail down weak areas.
